El Cortezo F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Heraclides Gómez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cheito Morales breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Quiros in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Quiros in the 42nd minute of play forced El Cortezo F.C.'s goalkeeper Eduardo Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute Francesco Quiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Cortezo F.C.'s Eduardo Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Agurto in the 64th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Santa Cruz F.C.'s goalkeeper Cheito Morales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Heraclides Gómez. After having played for 76 minutes, Francesco Quiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Cruz F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Francesco Quiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Beto Agurto came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Santa Cruz F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beto Agurto couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, El Cortezo F.C.'s Ramón Nuñez got a free kick in the 84th minute. Heraclides Gómez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Cheito Morales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beto Agurto took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduardo Perez. Eduardo Perez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Humberto Gutierrez hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Heraclides Gómez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cheito Morales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
