The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Felix Osorio notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Villa Rosario's Sebastián Valdez. Sebastián Valdez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Sebastián García managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Rosario's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastián García was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgardo Calderón breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, one of Villa Rosario:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Villa Rosario. Sebastián Valdez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Amaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The supporters of Nuevo Guararé F.C. booed when Villa Rosario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Escalona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Escalona hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Edgardo Calderón stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastián García's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After some careless play in the Nuevo Guararé F.C. defense, Luchito Zambrano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgardo Calderón. The Nuevo Guararé F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgardo Calderón should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pablo Henríguez during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pablo Henríguez hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game, Fernando Amaya recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sebastián Valdez. Fernando Amaya showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Sebastián García's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Calderón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Felix Osorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastián Valdez having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Amaya stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastián Valdez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Amaya in the 52nd minute of the match. When Fernando Amaya came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Nuevo Guararé F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Amaya couldn't finish the play. Villa Rosario's Sebastián Valdez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Amaya in the 56th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Osorio in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastián Valdez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastián García sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Luchito Zambrano could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Edgardo Calderón however easily saved by the left post. After 70 played minutes Nuevo Guararé F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Oberto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Osorio in the 76th minute of play forced Villa Rosario's goalkeeper Sebastián Valdez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pablo Henríguez hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Manuel Oberto, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 90 minutes of play, Villa Rosario's Luchito Zambrano made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgardo Calderón was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 94th minute, Fernando Amaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Villa Rosario's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
