The tension between the Celmira F.C. and the Isla Grande players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Celmira F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Herbruger. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Tomaso Pérez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Isla Grande's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomaso Pérez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Mendieta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wiliam Zapata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guillermo Morenos short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Sergio Mendieta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eloy Orozco in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolás Espino saved Isla Grande from getting behind. 24 minutes into the game, Antonio Arauz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Isla Grande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Celmira F.C. the free kick. Guillermo Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Sergio Mendieta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th match minute, Isla Grande was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Navarro to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Celmira F.C.'s Eloy Centella broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Wiliam Zapata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Orozco in the 46th minute of play forced Isla Grande's goalkeeper Nicolás Espino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eloy Orozco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomaso Pérez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wiliam Zapata in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nicolás Espino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Isla Grande's Tomaso Pérez got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute Guillermo Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Mendieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Isla Grande's goalkeeper Nicolás Espino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wiliam Zapata. The Isla Grande fans cheered their team off the field, for while Celmira F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
