Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Calito Peralta in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lorenzo Palma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Riders on the Storm's Andrés Henríguez got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lorenzo Palma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Agurto in the 34th minute of play. Riders on the Storm's Alex Chavez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milton Mora in the 40th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Milton Mora ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Chavez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Calito Peralta charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calito Peralta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Ortega made in the 57th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Riders on the Storm's José Ulloa. A collision led to Riders on the Storm getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Hector Calderón hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Saravia FC's Milton Mora sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Chavez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Juan Agurto made a precise shot to the right of Lorenzo Palma. Saravia FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. A collision led to Saravia FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Pablo Orozco hit a great ball. Milton Mora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Milton Mora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Alex Chavez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Vergara kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Milton Mora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Mora in the 75th minute of play forced Riders on the Storm's goalkeeper Alex Chavez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Hector Calderón threw the ball into play from the sideline. Saravia FC's Totín Gómez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 81st minute of the match Totín Gómez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alex Chavez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 84th match minute, Riders on the Storm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Vergara to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute, Orlando Vergara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lorenzo Palma was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Riders on the Storm's Alex Chavez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Riders on the Storm from getting a goal against them. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Riders on the Storm had played much better football throughout.
