Antonio García sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martín De Diego came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by New Géminis Darién F.C.'s Giancarlo Osorio. But to his dismay, Giancarlo Osorio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Guillermo Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Tello in the 17th minute of play. Guillermo Gonzalez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonio García in the 19th minute. Ulpiano Muñoz struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Guillermo Gonzalez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nuevo San Juan F.C.. An unexpectedly hard shot by Totin Gil in the 22nd minute of play forced Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s goalkeeper Martín De Diego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New Géminis Darién F.C.'s Totin Gil got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antonio García fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Gonzalez having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Felix Briceño came free, but Martín De Diego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Gonzalez made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Raul Tello sent off a good shot on target. Antonio Garcías short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Guillermo Gonzalez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Nuevo San Juan F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. New Géminis Darién F.C. were winning 0-1.

In the 54th minute Giancarlo Osorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martín De Diego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giancarlo Osorio during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 73 minutes into the match, Felix Briceño notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Nuevo San Juan F.C.'s Martín De Diego. Martín De Diego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Antonio García's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guillermo Gonzalez was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 78th minute Ulpiano Muñoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Gonzalez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antonio García in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guillermo Gonzalez saved New Géminis Darién F.C. from getting behind. Lucho Mendieta charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucho Mendieta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 97 played minutes New Géminis Darién F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Lucho Mendieta. The New Géminis Darién F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing New Géminis Darién F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
