Saravia FC's Monchi Diaz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nacional's Matias De Paredes got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Milton Mora made the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ortega hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Lorenzo Palma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mārtiņs Bujanovskis in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Leonidas Ramirez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atletico Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias De Paredes in the 78th minute of play forced Saravia FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Palma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Bultrón recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Atletico Nacional's Leonidas Ramirez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lorenzo Palma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. When Mārtiņs Bujanovskis came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Atletico Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mārtiņs Bujanovskis couldn't finish the play. David Quiros made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when José Posam sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Saravia FC's zone, Matias De Paredes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lorenzo Palma came out of the goal and Matias De Paredes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saravia FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
