Puerto Armuelles's Toto De Gracia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Puerto Armuelles from getting a goal against them. After 20 played minutes Puerto Armuelles got a freekick which was hit by Christian Arias. Marcos Villalobos hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Hector Sobenis had several of the Puerto Armuelles's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-1 score and a disappointed Toto De Gracia as he didn't even see the shot coming. Hector Sobenis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Toto De Gracia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. When Reggie Torrijos fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Puerto Armuelles's protests and gave Reggie Torrijos a yellow card for diving instead. Toto De Gracia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carta Vieja F.C.'s goalkeeper Ivan Ríos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 81 minutes into the game, Carta Vieja F.C.'s Hector Sobenis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toto De Gracia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. In the 86th match minute, Puerto Armuelles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Carrillo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Carta Vieja F.C. getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Cheito Fernández hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the game, Hector Sobenis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Toto De Gracia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carta Vieja F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
