Spectators: 7547 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1947, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. José Amaya started the match with the kick off. In the 9th minute Francesco Gil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Palma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramon Palma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolás Quintero in the 13th minute of play. Cermeño's Moisés Alfaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Amaya in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Cermeño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luchito Espino to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st match minute, Cermeño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Villarreal to maneuver through the defense. Heraclides Quintero charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heraclides Quintero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cermeño booed when Santa Ana Arriba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heraclides Quintero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolás Quintero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ramon Palma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolás Quintero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santa Ana Arriba's Ramon Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Gil in the 39th minute of play. Rolando Trejos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Santa Ana Arriba's Moisés Alfaro threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from José Amaya, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rolando Trejos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Moisés Alfaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Francesco Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolás Quintero kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Ramon Palma made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Nicolás Quintero sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Cermeño's zone, Rolando Trejos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Alfaro came out of the goal and Rolando Trejos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that José Amaya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Moisés Alfaro was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Tomaso Escalona hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Francesco Gil rounded Santa Ana Arriba's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Moisés Alfaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Amaya in the 77th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Beto Villarreal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Francesco Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Calito Gil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cermeño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Ana Arriba the free kick. A collision led to Cermeño getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Calito Gil hit a great ball. Cermeño's Emanuel Henriguez got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santa Ana Arriba were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Cermeño to leave the ground with a draw.
