Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cesar Palma kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Carlos Centella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cañazas's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Centella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in C.A.ANCON's zone, Azael Bermudez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Fernandez came out of the goal and Azael Bermudez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesar Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrés Murillo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Carlos Centella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Miguel Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Bermudez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Andrés Murillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Julio Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrés Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesar Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cañazas's Andrés Murillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesar Palma in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A.ANCON's goalkeeper Miguel Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Miguel Fernandez managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Cañazas's Carlos Centella fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 28 minutes into the game, Orlando Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A.ANCON's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cañazas the free kick. Cesar Palma kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. C.A.ANCON's Miguel Fernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save C.A.ANCON from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Centella got free with Miguel Fernandez in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Julio Bermudez came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the C.A.ANCON fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Bermudez couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Centella made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Hector Trejos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in C.A.ANCON's zone, Carlos Centella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Fernandez came out of the goal and Carlos Centella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martín Sánchez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Miguel Fernandez. C.A.ANCON's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in C.A.ANCON's zone, Carlos Centella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Fernandez came out of the goal and Carlos Centella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cañazas's Fabio Arauz got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Elias Alfaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Centella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Fernandez having to interfere. When Azael Bermudez came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Cañazas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Azael Bermudez couldn't finish the play. Carlos Centella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Miguel Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabio Arauz's late challenge caught a C.A.ANCON's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Arauz helped the player get up and apologised. Miguel Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Azael Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Centella in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cesar Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrés Murillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Bermudez in the 92nd minute. Miguel Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Centella in the 95th minute of play. The C.A.ANCON players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Cañazas from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
