Ciencias FC's Silvestre Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rune Dahlquist in the 13th minute of play. Alexander Pimentel took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Felipe Gomez. After having played for 28 minutes, Christian Castillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EL TIKO 1986's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Castillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as EL TIKO 1986's Rune Dahlquist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Silvestre Henriques. That made the score 2-3 after 31 minutes of play. Milton Mora kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, Ciencias FC's Rosendo Ugutz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felipe Gomez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. In the 44th minute, Rosendo Ugutz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felipe Gomez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. After the first half Ciencias FC were leading 2-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rune Dahlquist to make the kick off. EL TIKO 1986's Rune Dahlquist got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, EL TIKO 1986's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebiu Spirea came free, but Felipe Gomez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rune Dahlquist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvestre Henriques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. The corner led EL TIKO 1986's 方建冰 to fire away a dangerous shot which Silvestre Henriques despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rune Dahlquist in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvestre Henriques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silvestre Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rune Dahlquist in the 94th minute of play. The Ciencias FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ciencias FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
