Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Vincent Natos took the kick off in the first half of the match. Batista Alaña made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uhin Puerta in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, Vinicio Faes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Batista Alaña. CD Cuenca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinicio Faes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 19th match minute, CD Cuenca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Adamski to maneuver through the defense. Waldemar Adamski might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrico Almirall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Waldemar Adamski ran back to his position shaking his head. Waldemar Adamski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrico Almirall read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Frutos Mendoza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rosario Huerga, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 33 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Enrico Almirall was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 35 minutes into the game, Vinicio Faes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Batista Alaña was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Batista Alaña made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Vinicio Faes sent off a good shot on target. When Waldemar Adamski came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the CD Cuenca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Adamski couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rosario Huerga made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Jesus Pego hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uhin Puerta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Batista Alaña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosario Huerga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Enrico Almirall made a huge save. In the 61st minute, Adrianinho Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to CD Cuenca getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Jesus Pego hit a great ball. Batista Alaña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Natos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrianinho Varela hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Batista Alaña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodríguez Lobregon in the 77th minute of the match. CD Cuenca's Batista Alaña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincent Natos in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Vinicio Faes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Batista Alaña was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frutos Mendoza struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Enrico Almirall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Cuenca. In the 87th minute, Walter Garandia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Batista Alaña was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. If Waldemar Adamski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Frutos Mendoza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Cuenca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frutos Mendoza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. UD Caspiguasi fully deserved thier win.
