Bernardo Pumar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Aragón Lucero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jairo Tegerina hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Hooters FC's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Caño came free, but José-Luis Vadillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jairo Tegerina fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hooters FC's protests and gave Jairo Tegerina a yellow card for diving instead. 41 minutes into the game, Motaima FC's Jonathan Llaguno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José-Luis Vadillo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osorio Cardet got free with Aragón Lucero in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hooters FC's Bernardo Pumar got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Motaima FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Pumar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aragón Lucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Pumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osorio Cardet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gavica Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. José-Luis Vadillo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 67th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gavica Sancho. 77 minutes into the match, Motaima FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osorio Cardet came free, but Aragón Lucero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Pumar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aragón Lucero having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Motaima FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Caño to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Llaguno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 played minutes Hooters FC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Tegerina. After a defensive mix-up in Hooters FC's zone, Jonathan Llaguno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José-Luis Vadillo came out of the goal and Jonathan Llaguno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Hooters FC's Gilmar Fias got a free kick in the 89th minute. Osorio Cardet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Motaima FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Motaima FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
