But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasco Domingo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernando Izuzquiza in the 13th minute of play forced Falcons Sporting Club's goalkeeper Zenon Teijeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernando Izuzquiza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tenorio Molinuevo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Falcons Sporting Club's Tenorio Molinuevo got a free kick in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Falcons Sporting Club's zone, Hernando Izuzquiza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zenon Teijeiro came out of the goal and Hernando Izuzquiza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Vasco Domingo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfonso Balboa got his second yellow card in the match during the 37th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Falcons Sporting Club getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Alfonso Balboa hit a great ball. Hernando Izuzquiza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zenon Teijeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Sinchic booed when Falcons Sporting Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Morelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sinchic's Xabier Pola couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Falcons Sporting Club. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute Vasco Domingo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Teijeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernando Izuzquiza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zenon Teijeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cumbicus Fontoria kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match.
