Gomez Aldeco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguez Olaondo in the 11th minute of play. When Ovidio Garival came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Real Guayaquil F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Garival couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Garival got free with Eugenio Llopiz in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gomez Aldeco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Polo Castaneda in the 18th minute of play. Gomez Aldeco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguez Olaondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ovidio Garival made a kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sisimbe's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lucio Saludes was slow to take the kick. During this time Real Guayaquil F.C's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Emanuel Marichal managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 55 minutes, Lucio Saludes made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sisimbe's Eugenio Llopiz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Lucio Saludes fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Guayaquil F.C's protests and gave Lucio Saludes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sisimbe booed when Real Guayaquil F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucio Saludes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Real Guayaquil F.C's Gomez Aldeco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Real Guayaquil F.C from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Sisimbe's zone, Ovidio Garival stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Llopiz came out of the goal and Ovidio Garival tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 minutes of play, Real Guayaquil F.C's Ovidio Garival made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Llopiz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodriguez Olaondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gomez Aldeco having to interfere. Songur Tekgül kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Emanuel Marichal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gomez Aldeco was a little too slow when Gerardo Casquete got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 3-2. In the 90th minute, Sisimbe's Gerardo Casquete dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. The audience was convinced that Ovidio Garival's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugenio Llopiz was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Despite being the better team, Sisimbe failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
