Pancho Frias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Urtsin Descarrega hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Pancho Frias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erwin Echarri, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. If Erwin Echarri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ubaldo Briñas's late challenge caught a Juventus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ubaldo Briñas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, Liga de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Briñas to maneuver through the defense. Carabalí Guardamino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Pancho Frias made a huge save. Pancho Frias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erwin Echarri, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Chalá Horbea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovanni Sanches went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A hard shot by Bran Secadura from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Pancho Frias's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Pancho Frias made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Carabalí Guardamino sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute of the match Juventus got a corner. Liga de Quito's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bran Secadura ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Bran Secadura almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Liga de Quito's Pancho Frias did a great save. In the 43rd match minute, Juventus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paco Vuelva to maneuver through the defense. Chalá Horbea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Sanches in the 45th minute of play.

In the 53rd minute Juventus were awarded a corner. Bran Secadura went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Erwin Echarri got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pancho Frias quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 54 minutes, Erwin Echarri made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Liga de Quito's Pancho Frias tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Erwin Echarri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pancho Frias was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Geovanni Sanches could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Chalá Horbea made a huge save. When Ubaldo Briñas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. A collision led to Liga de Quito getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Ubaldo Briñas hit a great ball. Juventus's Bran Secadura couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Liga de Quito. If Erwin Echarri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Carabalí Guardamino came free, but Pancho Frias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carabalí Guardamino succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Carabalí Guardamino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Pancho Frias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
