But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xilo Cal couldn't finish the play. After 13 minutes, Anibal Herran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Tuban and the Inter de Guayaquil players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, CD Tuban was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anibal Herran to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil's Barros Henao got a free kick in the 17th minute. Polo Arrocha hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. If Marcos Reboiras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Xilo Cal took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Klimowitz Entrala to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xilo Cal to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Herran came free, but Wilmer Aranzabal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Wilmer Aranzabal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 57 minutes into the match, Xilo Cal notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of CD Tuban's Klimowitz Entrala. Klimowitz Entrala was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xilo Cal in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klimowitz Entrala saved CD Tuban from getting behind. Klimowitz Entrala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xilo Cal's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Inter de Guayaquil had played much better football throughout.
