After 2 played minutes CD Dacte got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Herezuelo. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Clemente Marin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esmeraldas Petrolero's supporters rose to their feet, but Clemente Marin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Urrutia Angeles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CD Dacte's Urrutia Angeles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save CD Dacte from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Esmeraldas Petrolero defense, Pio Saracho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José-Francisco Bugedo. The Esmeraldas Petrolero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José-Francisco Bugedo should have stopped the shot. José-Francisco Bugedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Martel, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of CD Dacte booed when Esmeraldas Petrolero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paco Larrauri didn't get a good kick on the ball. When CD Dacte's Pio Saracho in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esmeraldas Petrolero's goalie prevented a goal. Ivan Martel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Martel in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José-Francisco Bugedo saved Esmeraldas Petrolero from getting behind. José-Francisco Bugedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pio Saracho in the 42nd minute of play. Christian Alarid hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Ivan Martel notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Esmeraldas Petrolero's José-Francisco Bugedo. José-Francisco Bugedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clemente Marin to strike the kick off in the second half. Vera Manriquez shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Ivan Martel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José-Francisco Bugedo having to interfere. José-Francisco Bugedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Martel in the 65th minute of the match. If Pio Saracho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Xurxo Antoñano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pio Saracho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Xurxo Antoñano fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esmeraldas Petrolero's protests and gave Xurxo Antoñano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th minute, Xurxo Antoñano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Sánchez Argos sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and CD Dacte's Urrutia Angeles didn't even have to move. 81 minutes into the game, Ismael Herezuelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Dacte's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esmeraldas Petrolero the free kick. After 81 played minutes CD Dacte got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Herezuelo. If Ivan Martel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 minutes of play CD Dacte's Ismael Herezuelo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to CD Dacte getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Ismael Herezuelo hit a great ball. Clemente Marin struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Urrutia Angeles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esmeraldas Petrolero.
