The audience thought a goal was coming when Loco Sobrado got free with Xavon Zaldos in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 17 minutes, Ugutz Bultes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liga de Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ugutz Bultes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Loco Sobrado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liga de Quito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Guerrero Oca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Xavon Zaldos came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Liga de Quito's Ugutz Bultes. But to his dismay, Ugutz Bultes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. A hard shot by Martinez Cerra from long distance, 41 minutes into the match, got Xavon Zaldos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With his leg Xavon Zaldos managed to avoid a goal in the 42ndth minute, when Liga de Quito's Loco Sobrado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Liga de Quito's Joffre Graniela got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xavon Zaldos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ugutz Bultes in the 46th minute of play. Xavon Zaldos was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Ugutz Bultes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ugutz Bultes really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ysidro Guizabal to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loco Sobrado in the 55th minute of play forced Patria S.C's goalkeeper Xavon Zaldos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Elkin Ayos fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Patria S.C's protests and gave Elkin Ayos a yellow card for diving instead. Elkin Ayos hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Patria S.C's Xavon Zaldos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loco Sobrado in the 70th minute of play. The supporters of Liga de Quito booed when Patria S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zernin Falip didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Guerrero Oca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute of the match Martinez Cerra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xavon Zaldos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 76thth minute of the game Loco Sobrado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Patria S.C's Xavon Zaldos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Osvaldo Banzola charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Banzola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ysidro Guizabal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xavon Zaldos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ugutz Bultes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ugutz Bultes in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xavon Zaldos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 95th match minute, Liga de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaakkima Korhonen to maneuver through the defense. Walter Unzaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ysidro Guizabal, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Patria S.C's Xavon Zaldos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loco Sobrado in the 99th minute of play. There was no doubt that Liga de Quito were the better team. Liga de Quito's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
