In the 14thth minute of the game Alarcón Zamorano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CS EMELEC's Ricardo Piñera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alarcón Zamorano took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Piñera. Ricardo Piñera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Ricardo Piñera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alarcón Zamorano in the 25th minute of play. Xzavaier Guarnizo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Jeremias Lagarejos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Jeremias Lagarejos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Garrote to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Alarcón Zamorano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricardo Piñera. Alarcón Zamorano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Alarcón Zamorano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Ricardo Piñera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 66 minutes, Alarcón Zamorano made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. In the 83rdth minute of the game Alarcón Zamorano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CS EMELEC's Ricardo Piñera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to CS EMELEC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jeremias Lagarejos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calderón Comillas in the 89th minute of play forced CS EMELEC's goalkeeper Ricardo Piñera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xzavaier Guarnizo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Piñera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. When Alarcón Zamorano in the 96th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Ricardo Piñera kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-8 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. CD Yacuambi played a much better game than CS EMELEC and deserved their victory. The CS EMELEC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
