After some careless play in the Venus defense, Ataulfo Deza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zuberoa Migolla. The Venus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zuberoa Migolla should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Polo Laguillo in the 17th minute of play forced Holanda's goalkeeper Yoelvis Elola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Polo Laguillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Yoelvis Elola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Hugo Turallos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Holanda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venus the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Hugo Turallos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Garrido Basozabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. Polo Laguillo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yoelvis Elola having to make a save. 59 minutes into the match, Holanda's goal looked a bit too open when Polo Laguillo came free, but Yoelvis Elola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Gomez Artes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Holanda's Yoelvis Elola. Yoelvis Elola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
