The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fausto Minayo struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Ignacio Goma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Higueroncito. CD Higueroncito's Alfonso Arambula proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save CD Higueroncito from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Aleksander Zgonina dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alfonso Arambula, 1-0. Fausto Minayo struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Ignacio Goma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Higueroncito. Videl Viñambres's late challenge caught a CD Higueroncito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Videl Viñambres helped the player get up and apologised. Videl Viñambres kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, CD Higueroncito's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksander Zgonina came free, but Alfonso Arambula reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ignacio Goma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Minayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aleksander Zgonina had several of the CD Higueroncito's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 35 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Alfonso Arambula as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 38th minute Santiago Lordi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Arambula saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Tulcán City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Teijeiro to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Minayo scored 3-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ignacio Goma, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aleksander Zgonina in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfonso Arambula saved CD Higueroncito from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, Franco Velicia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ignacio Goma, 3-2. A collision led to Tulcán City FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Bohórquez Escuza hit a great ball. Fausto Minayo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Ignacio Goma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Minayo in the 77th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Aleksander Zgonina notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of CD Higueroncito's Alfonso Arambula. Alfonso Arambula was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ignacio Goma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Velicia in the 88th minute of play. The Tulcán City FC fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Tulcán City FC's Aleksander Zgonina looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfonso Arambula made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksander Zgonina in the 95th minute of play. Tulcán City FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
