Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hector Carne started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Casado Leguade dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vermudo Guau, 1-0. In the 6th minute, Javier Castiñeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José-Francisco Beite came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Gallegos SC's Escobar Coya. But to his dismay, Escobar Coya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Hector Carne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José-Francisco Beite having to interfere. Gallegos SC's German Junyent got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Adolfo Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 played minutes, UD Cutuglahua's Gustavo Cabrera shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vermudo Guau came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in UD Cutuglahua reached it. In the 21st minute, Grueso Gavela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Martin Sedillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Cutuglahua's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Sedillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vermudo Guau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Denis Argomedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute, Hector Carne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gallegos SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. José-Francisco Beite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Carne in the 38th minute of play. Hector Carne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José-Francisco Beite having to interfere. Hector Carne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, UD Cutuglahua's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Carne came free, but José-Francisco Beite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Denis Argomedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gallegos SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Argomedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José-Francisco Beite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Gallegos SC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casado Leguade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, UD Cutuglahua's Velasco Mirabal got a free kick in the 54th minute. José-Francisco Beite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Escobar Coya in the 58th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Velasco Mirabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 minutes, Oswaldo Izuzquiza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UD Cutuglahua and the Gallegos SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, UD Cutuglahua's Oswaldo Izuzquiza got a free kick in the 75th minute. Oswaldo Izuzquiza hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. José-Francisco Beite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Carne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Martin Sedillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José-Francisco Beite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Carne, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by UD Cutuglahua's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hector Carne was slow to take the kick. During this time Gallegos SC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Escobar Coya heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 90th minute of the match, German Junyent tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José-Francisco Beite saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Escobar Coya during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casado Leguade in the 95th minute of play forced Gallegos SC's goalkeeper Vermudo Guau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The UD Cutuglahua fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gallegos SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
