An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Caldero in the 3rd minute of play forced Nayumbimi FC's goalkeeper Garrido Eureste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, C.D. Leones's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Lasa came free, but Flor Letatu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vidal Trullols sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Garrido Eureste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Caldero in the 13th minute of the match. C.D. Leones's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Samaniego Depino scored to the left of an out of position Flor Letatu, making the score, 1-0. Santiago Caldero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Garrido Eureste having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Nayumbimi FC's zone, Santiago Caldero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garrido Eureste came out of the goal and Santiago Caldero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samaniego Depino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Flor Letatu made a huge save. Méndez Balanzuela hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes C.D. Leones got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Caldero. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nayumbimi FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! In the 39th minute there was a penalty for C.D. Leones. Dennis Ariztimuño stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Garrido Eureste. 1-1. Vidal Trullols might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Garrido Eureste. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vidal Trullols ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evelio Lasa to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, C.D. Leones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Ariztimuño to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Nayumbimi FC's Garrido Eureste got control of the ball when Vidal Trullols tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute Samaniego Depino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flor Letatu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evelio Lasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Flor Letatu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Vidal Trullols managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.D. Leones's supporters rose to their feet, but Vidal Trullols was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garrido Eureste breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Santiago Caldero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Garrido Eureste made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Salas Atauri sent off a good shot on target. Evelio Lasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flor Letatu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evelio Lasa in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flor Letatu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nayumbimi FC's Evelio Lasa got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. C.D. Leones's Flor Letatu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Lasa in the 87th minute of play. Salas Atauri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the game, Méndez Balanzuela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nayumbimi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.D. Leones the free kick. In the 96th minute, Méndez Balanzuela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Santiago Caldero managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.D. Leones's supporters rose to their feet, but Santiago Caldero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Garrido Eureste breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. C.D. Leones were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
