Pitishca's Lastra Negrete proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Pitishca from getting a goal against them. Athletic Boulevard's Quiñónez Abancens got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lastra Negrete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Angelo in the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Quiñónez Abancens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lastra Negrete was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Quiñónez Abancens sped through Pitishca's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lastra Negrete.
