Banos's Freddy Linde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mendez Estrada in the 11th minute of play. Santiago Sarralde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Alessandro Herrasti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santiago Sarralde in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alessandro Herrasti saved Liga Deportiva Universita from getting behind. Freddy Linde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mendez Estrada in the 17th minute of play. Virila Buey charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virila Buey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Liga Deportiva Universita booed when Banos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virila Buey didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Diego Molinuevo fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liga Deportiva Universita's protests and gave Diego Molinuevo a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes, Banos's Luis Payva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alessandro Herrasti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Banos reached it. Andres Villalain hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The Banos fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Banos's Santiago Sarralde looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Vidanes during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. George Vidanes hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Umea Martioda came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Banos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umea Martioda couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the match, Zambrano Hesa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alessandro Herrasti. Liga Deportiva Universita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zambrano Hesa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After the first half Banos were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Santiago Sarralde to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zambrano Hesa got free with Alessandro Herrasti in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Liga Deportiva Universita's Mendez Almuzara got a free kick in the 57th minute. Liga Deportiva Universita's Alessandro Herrasti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Liga Deportiva Universita from getting a goal against them. Santiago Sarralde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Herrasti having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Liga Deportiva Universita's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zambrano Hesa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fernando Cabezon was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 82nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Liga Deportiva Universita's Andres Villalain got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Andres Villalain off the ground. 88 minutes into the match, Liga Deportiva Universita's goalkeeper Alessandro Herrasti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zambrano Hesa. George Vidanes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Linde having to interfere. Diego Molinuevo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Banos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
