Caldo de 31's Ysmael Geli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Caldo de 31 from getting a goal against them. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

52 minutes into the match, L.D.U de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Elvis Valentin came free, but Hurtado Herbon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ysmael Geli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for L.D.U de Quito. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. L.D.U de Quito fully deserved thier win.
