Quiróz Cainzos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Ordono, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute of the match DOW got a corner. CD Ovejo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfie Radcliffe ran over to the corner to take the kick. Texeira Soberon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Bobe in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to CD Ovejo getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Eugenio Varona hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Cornelio Bobe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Texeira Soberon. DOW's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cornelio Bobe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frutos Cortes got free with Quiróz Cainzos in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frutos Cortes scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Quiróz Cainzos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The DOW fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when DOW's Joaquin Ordono looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Frutos Cortes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, CD Ovejo's goalkeeper Quiróz Cainzos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquin Ordono. When Frutos Cortes came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the DOW fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frutos Cortes couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquin Ordono to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Joaquin Ordono notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of CD Ovejo's Quiróz Cainzos. Quiróz Cainzos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquin Ordono recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Ordono in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quiróz Cainzos saved CD Ovejo from getting behind. Quiróz Cainzos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquin Ordono's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the game, DOW's Joaquin Ordono nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Quiróz Cainzos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Ordono in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quiróz Cainzos saved CD Ovejo from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Frutos Cortes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DOW fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Joaquin Ordono kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Ordono in the 88th minute of play forced CD Ovejo's goalkeeper Quiróz Cainzos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frutos Cortes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Quiróz Cainzos having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in CD Ovejo's zone, Frutos Cortes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quiróz Cainzos came out of the goal and Frutos Cortes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
