Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Samuel Bruñon started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Efrain Riego mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Sangolqui and the Almendral players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Almendral booed when CD Sangolqui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Riego didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zilar Lampez in the 9th minute of play forced Almendral's goalkeeper Jama Moldes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CD Sangolqui's López Aubets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Vivas in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th match minute, Almendral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelino Maixenchs to maneuver through the defense. Jama Moldes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Riego in the 15th minute of play. Ruperto Vivas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. López Aubets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Bruñon in the 25th minute of play. Samuel Bruñon's late challenge caught a CD Sangolqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel Bruñon helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes Almendral got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Bruñon. After 30 minutes, Isaias Castellana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Sangolqui and the Almendral players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th match minute, Almendral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Viñas to maneuver through the defense. Efrain Riego hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. López Aubets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Bruñon in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in CD Sangolqui's zone, Ruperto Vivas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. López Aubets came out of the goal and Ruperto Vivas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Vivas in the 47th minute of play forced CD Sangolqui's goalkeeper López Aubets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Ruperto Vivas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 56 played minutes CD Sangolqui got a freekick which was hit by Xusto Ciaran. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Samuel Bruñon put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of López Aubets. Ruperto Vivas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without López Aubets having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Zilar Lampez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CD Sangolqui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Bruñon got free with López Aubets in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. López Aubets showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruperto Vivas in the 79th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Almendral's Rios Siles got a free kick in the 80th minute. Almendral's Jama Moldes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Castellana in the 81st minute of play. In the 86th minute Xusto Ciaran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jama Moldes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Bruñon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, López Aubets skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Almendral were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing CD Sangolqui to leave the ground with a draw.
