The audience was convinced that Jaramillo Digon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caicedo Ageitos was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vachon Ceballos in the 5th minute of play forced independiente magdalena's goalkeeper Caicedo Ageitos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xayveon Rico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for independiente magdalena. Caicedo Ageitos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaramillo Digon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caicedo Ageitos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edison Arenchen in the 28th minute of play. After 31 minutes of play, Salinas City F.C.'s Romo Macua made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Caicedo Ageitos was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the game, Edison Arenchen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Caicedo Ageitos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ovidio Zuazna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xayveon Rico having to interfere. Caicedo Ageitos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edison Arenchen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edison Arenchen to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ovidio Zuazna made a precise shot to the right of Xayveon Rico. Salinas City F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. If Cordero Merino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. independiente magdalena's Ovidio Zuazna got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xayveon Rico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Zuazna in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Salinas City F.C.'s zone, Cordero Merino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xayveon Rico came out of the goal and Cordero Merino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cordero Merino in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xayveon Rico saved Salinas City F.C. from getting behind. Xayveon Rico stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ovidio Zuazna's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After 78 minutes, Osorio Cachorro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salinas City F.C. and the independiente magdalena players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Salinas City F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of independiente magdalena:s goal. In the 79th minute there was a penalty for independiente magdalena. Cordero Merino stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Xayveon Rico. 3-2. 82 minutes into the game, one of Salinas City F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cordero Merino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ovidio Zuazna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xayveon Rico read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Ovidio Zuazna scored 4-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xayveon Rico, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salinas City F.C.'s goalkeeper Xayveon Rico, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jaramillo Digon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 101st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the independiente magdalena players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
