CD Arroyo's Vilson Sordo got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, CD Arroyo's goalkeeper Alfredo Besga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fausto Guiluz. After recieving a nice pass, Green Lanterns United's Venceslao Arzube tried to score from far away in the 14th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alfredo Besga was a little too slow when Zadornin Cerrajeria got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. Costante Gallaiztegui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Artadi in the 20th minute of play. Xavier Artadi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Costante Gallaiztegui read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Costante Gallaiztegui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilson Sordo in the 24th minute of the match. Green Lanterns United's Costante Gallaiztegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Artadi in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Fausto Guiluz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zadornin Cerrajeria to make the kick off. If Zadornin Cerrajeria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Green Lanterns United's Costante Gallaiztegui got control of the ball when Vilson Sordo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sandro Arandojo charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
