After a defensive mix-up in Esparta FC's zone, Borja Vime stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gomez Poncelas came out of the goal and Borja Vime tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inocencio Ponte to make the kick off. Gomez Poncelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Borja Vime in the 52nd minute of the match. Walme Valmaseda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gian-Carlo Olvera fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esparta FC's goalkeeper Gomez Poncelas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gomez Poncelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Borja Vime, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Walme Valmaseda took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorge Gamez. Jorge Gamez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Borja Vime took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gomez Poncelas.
