The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paredes Sanjuan in the 9th minute of play forced Liga de Quito F.C's goalkeeper Kléber Ronquillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kléber Ronquillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paredes Sanjuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Vidal Iglesia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iza Cuyar in the 41st minute of play. If Julian Lecuona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paredes Sanjuan made a kick off. Vidal Iglesia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iza Cuyar in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute Xefe Ezquierdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléber Ronquillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Liga de Quito F.C's Kléber Ronquillo got control of the ball when Suárez Guillarte tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mateus Ocejo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kléber Ronquillo came out and tried to block the shot, but Mateus Ocejo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Paredes Sanjuan came free, but Kléber Ronquillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Heroes Fc's Vidal Iglesia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Lecuona in the 66th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paredes Sanjuan in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kléber Ronquillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 73 minutes into the game, Cuero Amor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liga de Quito F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heroes Fc the free kick. Cuero Amor hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Vidal Iglesia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Lecuona, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateus Ocejo during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paredes Sanjuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Ronquillo having to interfere. When Iza Cuyar fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liga de Quito F.C's protests and gave Iza Cuyar a yellow card for diving instead. Iza Cuyar hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 84th play minutes Paredes Sanjuan shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Kléber Ronquillo and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 88th minute, Orlando Binel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Heroes Fc walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
