Spectators: 6695 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ambrossi Areces got the match started through his kick off. Shushupindi's Ambrossi Areces got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ambrossi Areces fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José-Francisco Vanegas having to interfere. After having played for 7 minutes, Edson Enterria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shushupindi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edson Enterria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the game, Pancho Mina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Naranja Mecanica FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shushupindi the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Naranja Mecanica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pancho Mina to maneuver through the defense. Shushupindi's Edson Enterria was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 12th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With an all-out effort, Shushupindi's José-Francisco Vanegas threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ambrossi Areces, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 20th minute of the match, Ambrossi Areces tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José-Francisco Vanegas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Ambrossi Areces had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ambrossi Areces received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. José-Francisco Vanegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 minutes, Hurtado Saco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shushupindi and the Naranja Mecanica FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Naranja Mecanica FC booed when Shushupindi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hurtado Saco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ambrossi Areces came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Shushupindi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ambrossi Areces couldn't finish the play. Edson Enterria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but José-Francisco Vanegas made a huge save. If Trivniño Loizaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Edson Enterria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

53 minutes into the match, Lisandro Alcolea notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Shushupindi's Héctor Labrada. Héctor Labrada was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 56 minutes of play, Shushupindi's Ambrossi Areces made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José-Francisco Vanegas was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Edson Enterria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 61 minutes, Trivniño Loizaga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Naranja Mecanica FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trivniño Loizaga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute Edson Enterria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José-Francisco Vanegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José-Francisco Vanegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Enterria, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Trivniño Loizaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Héctor Labrada having to interfere. Lisandro Alcolea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. In the 86th minute, Ambrossi Areces got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Naranja Mecanica FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ambrossi Areces came free, but José-Francisco Vanegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José-Francisco Vanegas came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Shushupindi's Edson Enterria. But to his dismay, Edson Enterria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Shushupindi had won after a very even match.
