In the 7th minute, UD Narancay's Teofilio Agulla seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Teofilio Agulla the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of UD Narancay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Teofilio Agulla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 11 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Ugutz Maneiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vilson Arguiz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 12th match minute, UD Narancay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zuñiga Sama to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Klimowitz Clavijo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Umea Santander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Vilson Arguiz made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Berges during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Casado Belber took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Vilson Arguiz to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the UD Narancay defense, Ugutz Maneiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vilson Arguiz. The UD Narancay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vilson Arguiz should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Ugutz Maneiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vilson Arguiz. That made the score 6-0 in the 37 minute of play. Casado Belber received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vilson Arguiz came out and tried to block the shot, but Casado Belber slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 41st minute. When Ecuador's Casado Belber in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Narancay's goalkeeper Vilson Arguiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Umea Santander was extremely unlucky when he, in the 49th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

The wind increased when Casado Belber made the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Casado Belber got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vilson Arguiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umea Santander, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ugutz Maneiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vilson Arguiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ugutz Maneiro ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 played minutes UD Narancay got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Grado. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Ugutz Maneiro a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in UD Narancay's zone, Klimowitz Clavijo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vilson Arguiz came out of the goal and Klimowitz Clavijo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Casado Belber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Ecuador players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
