Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 60) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Zorion Narbona got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, CS.EMELEC's Emilio Viya nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Viteri Laures made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Justavino Mier notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Jimtiquitu's Viteri Laures. Viteri Laures was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 9 minutes into the match, Jimtiquitu's goal looked a bit too open when Zorion Narbona came free, but Viteri Laures reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justavino Mier got free with Viteri Laures in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Zorion Narbona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Viteri Laures was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Jimtiquitu's Francisco Cuba pulled a muscle in his leg after 20 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Zorion Narbona came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the CS.EMELEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zorion Narbona couldn't finish the play. Gonzales Modino hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Justavino Mier came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Viteri Laures could save by the left post. 36 minutes into the match, Zorion Narbona dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Viteri Laures, 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zorion Narbona in the 41st minute of play forced Jimtiquitu's goalkeeper Viteri Laures to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xusto Biñayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentine Ucles in the 43rd minute of play. Xusto Biñayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Carmeneses's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute, Ruben Secadura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudio Carmeneses to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Jimtiquitu got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Carmeneses. Viteri Laures showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zorion Narbona, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Valentine Ucles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xusto Biñayo having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Jimtiquitu's Claudio Carmeneses slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Xusto Biñayo. That made the score 5-1 after 68 minutes of play. 72 minutes into the match, CS.EMELEC's goal looked a bit too open when Valentine Ucles came free, but Xusto Biñayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carabalí Ruperto charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carabalí Ruperto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carabalí Ruperto kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Zorion Narbona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viteri Laures. Jimtiquitu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zorion Narbona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Ruben Secadura hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. If Justavino Mier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viteri Laures showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justavino Mier in the 85th minute of the match. Viteri Laures came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by CS.EMELEC's Zorion Narbona. But to his dismay, Zorion Narbona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Ruben Secadura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xusto Biñayo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. CS.EMELEC's Hernani Lima was substituted for Justavino Mier. Jimtiquitu's Viteri Laures played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zorion Narbona in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, CS.EMELEC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ruben Secadura fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ruben Secadura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xusto Biñayo having to interfere. Jimtiquitu's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
