An unexpectedly hard shot by Cevallos Lemus in the 4th minute of play forced UD Anafo's goalkeeper Estrada Mouro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Manchester United booed when UD Anafo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manchester United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Xaver Ororbia scored to the left of an out of position Guagua Vitores, making the score, 1-2. With a little luck, Manchester United's Guagua Vitores got control of the ball when Montalvo Hurtado tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Montalvo Hurtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guagua Vitores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xaver Ororbia's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 52nd minute, UD Anafo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cevallos Lemus fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 54 minutes, Anangonó Peña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United and the UD Anafo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Anangonó Peña hit a great ball. Montalvo Hurtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Guagua Vitores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the game, Cevallos Lemus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Estrada Mouro. Cevallos Lemus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Cevallos Lemus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Estrada Mouro having to interfere. Guagua Vitores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Montalvo Hurtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Xaver Ororbia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guagua Vitores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Anangonó Peña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 91st minute of the match Anangonó Peña completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Anangonó Peña a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of UD Anafo booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anangonó Peña didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cevallos Lemus's late challenge caught a UD Anafo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Manchester United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
