The crowd rose to their feet as Pinto Morcillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bustos Benegas. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, Suárez Aroztegui was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S. D. Aucas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quisaya the free kick. The supporters of Quisaya booed when S. D. Aucas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Suárez Aroztegui didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 8 minutes S. D. Aucas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marquez Nestares who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Quisaya's Marquez Nestares to fire away a dangerous shot which Bustos Benegas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Suárez Aroztegui got his second yellow card in the match during the 11th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 11th match minute, S. D. Aucas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Suárez Aroztegui to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute, Pinto Morcillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to S. D. Aucas getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Zoilo Servicial hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in S. D. Aucas's zone, Pinto Morcillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bustos Benegas came out of the goal and Pinto Morcillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bran Marco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rd minute, Timoteo Obeso made a precise shot to the right of Uriel Rubinos. Quisaya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Timoteo Obeso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 minutes, German Villaseñor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quisaya and the S. D. Aucas players grew even worse after the yellow card. German Villaseñor kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Timoteo Obeso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Uriel Rubinos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 39 minutes, Zoilo Servicial mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S. D. Aucas and the Quisaya players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Quisaya booed when S. D. Aucas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zoilo Servicial didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Pinto Morcillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute Pinto Morcillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bustos Benegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Timoteo Obeso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. S. D. Aucas's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
