Aucas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Suárez Aroztegui to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Edgar Munozcano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tarqui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Edgar Munozcano sped through S. D. Aucas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bustos Benegas. Geovanny Govantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Ludeña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Camilo Churruca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Edgar Munozcano put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Bustos Benegas. In the 39th minute, Camilo Churruca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Edgar Munozcano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bustos Benegas. S. D. Aucas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Munozcano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgar Munozcano in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bustos Benegas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Camilo Churruca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Munozcano had several of the S. D. Aucas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 71 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Bustos Benegas as he didn't even see the shot coming. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timoteo Obeso in the 86th minute of play forced Tarqui's goalkeeper Geovanny Govantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S. D. Aucas's Bustos Benegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Munozcano in the 88th minute of play. Felix Ludeña struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Geovanny Govantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S. D. Aucas. 91 minutes into the game, Zuñiga Agosta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S. D. Aucas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tarqui the free kick. Bustos Benegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Munozcano in the 94th minute of play. Suárez Aroztegui hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, S. D. Aucas's Xanti Perramon got a free kick in the 101st minute. After 103 minutes S. D. Aucas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Diaz Pachistre who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Diaz Pachistre got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bustos Benegas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tarqui's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
