In the 8th minute, Asensio Escobar made a precise shot to the right of Veremundo Bichesne. Real Guayaquil United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Ysidro Feliz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ysidro Feliz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ricardo Fano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Fano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ysidro Feliz in the 18th minute of the match. Umea Renteria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute Umea Renteria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Fano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jácome Cardenas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Ysidro Feliz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Umea Renteria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Fano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Veremundo Bichesne made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Asensio Escobar sent off a good shot on target.

A collision led to Cerro SC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ur Imendia hit a great ball. Ysidro Feliz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Ricardo Fano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 57th minute, Ysidro Feliz made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Fano. Cerro SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Umea Renteria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Umea Renteria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Fano having to interfere. Ricardo Fano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umea Renteria in the 72nd minute of play. Leo Lebon kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Ysidro Feliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Veremundo Bichesne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jácome Cardenas, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Umea Renteria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
