Veremundo Bichesne came out of the goal and Alejandro Galindez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Veremundo Bichesne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Vermudo in the 9th minute of the match. The nice shot from Alejandro Galindez in the 16thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Veremundo Bichesne had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 19th minute Ysidro Feliz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Cerrajero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Umea Renteria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Cerrajero having to interfere. Danilo Terron hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Fuerza Amarilla were furious when Oso Huelga was red carded, 35 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Fuerza Amarilla's Leonardo Cerrajero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Fueyo in the 44th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Real Guayaquil United getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Igor Riero hit a great ball. Ariel Vermudo took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Veremundo Bichesne. Veremundo Bichesne dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Veremundo Bichesne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Vermudo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Paúl Hoyuela notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Real Guayaquil United's Veremundo Bichesne. Veremundo Bichesne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ariel Vermudo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veremundo Bichesne having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Paúl Hoyuela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fuerza Amarilla fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After 81 played minutes Fuerza Amarilla got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Galindez. In the 85th minute, Mendez Landa made a precise shot to the right of Veremundo Bichesne. Real Guayaquil United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. 89 minutes into the match, Fuerza Amarilla's Mendez Landa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Veremundo Bichesne narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 90th minute Ariel Vermudo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Veremundo Bichesne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
