The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee ignored Guapulo SC's protests and gave Yambay Tanasio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Guapulo SC's Yambay Tanasio got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guapulo SC's goalkeeper Demetrio Uriona, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xavierlada Anaya's late challenge caught a Independiente del Valle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xavierlada Anaya helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Guapulo SC's Xavierlada Anaya got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18th match minute, Independiente del Valle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Toca to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Aubert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demetrio Uriona having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Independiente del Valle's goal looked a bit too open when Xavierlada Anaya came free, but Joaquin Laranga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Aubert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Aubert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Guapulo SC booed when Independiente del Valle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xuaco Agado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Demetrio Uriona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Aubert, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Teofilio Fandiño notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Guapulo SC's Demetrio Uriona. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teofilio Fandiño to make the kick off. Independiente del Valle's Teofilio Fandiño got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Xuaco Agado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Independiente del Valle's Teofilio Fandiño suffered a sore knee after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Vergaray Leciana charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vergaray Leciana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Xavier Baro missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 88 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Demetrio Uriona right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xuaco Agado got free with Demetrio Uriona in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Independiente del Valle's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
