Spectators: 7380 (Terracing: 5536, Seating: 1697, VIP seats: 147) C.S. Emelec's Walter Folle started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Quintana Peralves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Peart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute, George Hoyuela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Murillo Lloreda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Peart having to interfere. Xove Era sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When C.S. Emelec's Walter Folle in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CD Tambillo's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th minute, C.S. Emelec's Xove Era ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Duarte Archimbaud. Duarte Archimbaud yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 37th minute, Xove Era reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Duarte Archimbaud. The goal made the score 3-0. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Duarte Archimbaud successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Filipo Zurica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walter Folle in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duarte Archimbaud, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When George Hoyuela came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the C.S. Emelec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Hoyuela couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute of the match Narciso Renteria sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Duarte Archimbaud skillfully saved the ball.

If Walter Folle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xove Era sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th match minute, CD Tambillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Tabernilla to maneuver through the defense. CD Tambillo's Duarte Archimbaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Hoyuela in the 57th minute of play. Duarte Archimbaud stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walter Folle's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Filipo Zurica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.S. Emelec's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Tambillo the free kick. Xove Era fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Archimbaud having to interfere. In the 67th minute Walter Folle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Archimbaud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CD Tambillo! George Hoyuela placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! George Hoyuela might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Duarte Archimbaud. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. George Hoyuela ran back to his position shaking his head. When C.S. Emelec's Walter Folle in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CD Tambillo's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Xove Era managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.S. Emelec's supporters rose to their feet, but Xove Era was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Archimbaud breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, CD Tambillo's goal looked a bit too open when Xove Era came free, but Duarte Archimbaud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Xove Era managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S. Emelec's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xove Era was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Walter Folle put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Duarte Archimbaud. Filipo Zurica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. C.S. Emelec had played much better football throughout.
