Spectators: 7230 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 100) Geovanni Machado started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 2nd minute, Ovando Ariztimuño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Videl Arecha came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Collas SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Videl Arecha couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roberto Artes in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolas Ilarza saved Collas SC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Neicer Berrio sped through Collas SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicolas Ilarza. 17 minutes into the game, Samuel Cerdeño cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Xarles Sotelo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Geovanni Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neicer Berrio in the 23rd minute of play forced Collas SC's goalkeeper Nicolas Ilarza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Angel Ubera fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CS Emelec's protests and gave Angel Ubera a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, CS Emelec's Xarles Sotelo got control of the ball when Videl Arecha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th match minute, CS Emelec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Ubera to maneuver through the defense. Videl Arecha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xarles Sotelo having to interfere. CS Emelec's Xarles Sotelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Machado in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Espinoza Capell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CS Emelec's supporters crossed their fingers, but Espinoza Capell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Espinoza Capell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Ilarza having to interfere. After 46 played minutes, CS Emelec's Ovando Ariztimuño shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nicolas Ilarza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CS Emelec reached it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neicer Berrio was the one to do the kick off. Nicolas Ilarza was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Neicer Berrio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Neicer Berrio really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. If Neicer Berrio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Roberto Artes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Videl Arecha struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Xarles Sotelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Collas SC. Vidal Quetara kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute of the match Lara Cabañeros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xarles Sotelo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Geovanni Machado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xarles Sotelo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. The Collas SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolas Ilarza should have stopped the shot. The CS Emelec players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
