Spectators: 6680 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1680, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Noriega Alborza took the kick off in the first half of the match. Zeru Ordoña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th match minute, Esmeraldas Petrolero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carnero Cantos to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by España Abastas from long distance, 7 minutes into the match, got Jairo Roson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpected shot in the 8th minute by Noriega Alborza got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. CD Caranango's Noriega Alborza got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th match minute, Esmeraldas Petrolero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Goñi to maneuver through the defense. Jairo Roson made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Zeru Ordoña sent off a good shot on target. The CD Caranango fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when CD Caranango's Zeru Ordoña looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Zeru Ordoña's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Roson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The attack was good, but when Noriega Alborza in the 23rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 26 minutes into the game, Noriega Alborza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jairo Roson. Noriega Alborza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Xurxo Gandia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Isaias Verdes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xurxo Gandia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Verdes having to interfere. Martinez Olanda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Isaias Verdes. CD Caranango's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Xurxo Gandia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elias Lumbreras's late challenge caught a Esmeraldas Petrolero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elias Lumbreras helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in CD Caranango fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Martinez Olanda walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 43 played minutes CD Caranango got a freekick which was hit by Elias Lumbreras. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Xurxo Gandia to strike the kick off in the second half. Hurtado Serna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Verdes having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Esmeraldas Petrolero's zone, Noriega Alborza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Roson came out of the goal and Noriega Alborza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jairo Roson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noriega Alborza in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Xurxo Gandia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esmeraldas Petrolero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xurxo Gandia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 66 played minutes Esmeraldas Petrolero got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Goñi. Zeru Ordoña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeru Ordoña in the 71st minute of play forced Esmeraldas Petrolero's goalkeeper Jairo Roson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Roson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noriega Alborza in the 74th minute of the match. When Zeru Ordoña came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the CD Caranango fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeru Ordoña couldn't finish the play. If Zeru Ordoña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Esmeraldas Petrolero's Claudio Goñi got a free kick in the 86th minute. The CD Caranango fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when CD Caranango's Noriega Alborza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the Esmeraldas Petrolero players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for CD Caranango.
