Spectators: 6674 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gabriel Arena started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the game, CD Gualaqui's Gabriel Arena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vitin Barrial made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 9th minute, Carabalí Larrinoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosendo Gaztea got free with Perlaza Corias in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Perlaza Corias came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Salinas FC's Gaspar Gar. But to his dismay, Gaspar Gar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 15 minutes into the game, when Reynaldo Casar put in a rough tackle. Reynaldo Casar hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Joaquin Mantilla came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the CD Gualaqui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Mantilla couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cruz Castaneda in the 19th minute of play forced Salinas FC's goalkeeper Vitin Barrial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vitin Barrial made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xove Montes in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, CD Gualaqui's goalkeeper Perlaza Corias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gaspar Gar. After a defensive mix-up in Salinas FC's zone, Cruz Castaneda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitin Barrial came out of the goal and Cruz Castaneda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitin Barrial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cruz Castaneda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luis Felo got free with Perlaza Corias in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Perlaza Corias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aguinaga Valencina, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Vitin Barrial showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Arena in the 31st minute of the match. Salinas FC's Vitin Barrial played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xove Montes in the 33rd minute of play. Luis Felo might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Perlaza Corias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Felo ran back to his position shaking his head. After 40 minutes, Omar Velayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Gualaqui and the Salinas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Omar Velayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Cristian Morellana got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 43rd match minute, CD Gualaqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Mantilla to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Salinas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Arena came free, but Vitin Barrial reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Xove Montes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Salinas FC's Vitin Barrial. Vitin Barrial was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Salinas FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CD Gualaqui were winning 1-2.

With a little luck, Salinas FC's Vitin Barrial got control of the ball when Cruz Castaneda tried to sneak it across the goal line. 1-3 became the score in the 56th minute when Gabriel Arena elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 61st minute Gabriel Arena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitin Barrial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Salinas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Arena came free, but Vitin Barrial reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Salinas FC's goalkeeper Vitin Barrial had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cruz Castaneda. Gaspar Gar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vitin Barrial showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carabalí Larrinoa in the 76th minute of the match. Vitin Barrial was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Omar Velayo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 80 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Omar Velayo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vitin Barrial. That made the score 1-5 in the 83 minute of play. Vitin Barrial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Arena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Luis Felo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gaspar Gar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Perlaza Corias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Morellana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perlaza Corias having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Gaspar Gar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Perlaza Corias was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5.
