Spectators: 6665 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gabriel Arena kicked off to start the match. De-Jesús Oropesa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Perlaza Corias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Perlaza Corias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Bartolome in the 5th minute of play. If Gabriel Arena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Janer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perlaza Corias having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Antonio Bartolome got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cruz Castaneda got free in front of the goal in the 20th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jaime Vijil was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Xove Montes hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Antonio Bartolome had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Bartolome received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Perlaza Corias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cruz Castaneda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Vijil having to interfere. After 36 minutes, Valiente Uralde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C. D. LA TOLITA and the CD Gualaqui players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valiente Uralde hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Gabriel Arena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jaime Vijil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Antonio Bartolome had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell De-Jesús Oropesa to make the kick off. Jaime Vijil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Arena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as C. D. LA TOLITA's De-Jesús Oropesa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Perlaza Corias. That made the score 0-1 after 56 minutes of play. A collision led to C. D. LA TOLITA getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Valiente Uralde hit a great ball. Martin Janer hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Gabriel Arena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Gualaqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Arena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. De-Jesús Oropesa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Perlaza Corias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute of the match Eugenio Guate shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jaime Vijil showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 82 minutes of play, CD Gualaqui's Cruz Castaneda made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaime Vijil was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Cruz Castaneda in the 86th minute of play forced C. D. LA TOLITA's goalkeeper Jaime Vijil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute Gabriel Arena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Vijil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, C. D. LA TOLITA's Valiente Uralde got a free kick in the 88th minute. C. D. LA TOLITA's Jaime Vijil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cruz Castaneda in the 90th minute of play. CD Gualaqui's Omar Velayo got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gabriel Arena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The C. D. LA TOLITA players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented CD Gualaqui from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
