Spectators: 6695 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rosendo Gaztea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in CD Gualaqui's zone, Gaspar Gar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perlaza Corias came out of the goal and Gaspar Gar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Rosendo Gaztea notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of CD Gualaqui's Perlaza Corias. Perlaza Corias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Perlaza Corias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Gaztea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Gabriel Arena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vitin Barrial was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. CD Gualaqui's Perlaza Corias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosendo Gaztea in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute Rosendo Gaztea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perlaza Corias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cruz Castaneda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Vitin Barrial made a huge save. In the 41st minute Rosendo Gaztea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perlaza Corias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Cruz Castaneda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitin Barrial showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Velayo in the 56th minute of the match. Vitin Barrial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xove Montes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gabriel Arena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitin Barrial showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Arena, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute Rosendo Gaztea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perlaza Corias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Salinas FC booed when CD Gualaqui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Mantilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Guamán Orejo in the 68th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Salinas FC's Gaspar Gar. Vitin Barrial made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Arena in the 70th minute of play. Cristian Morellana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perlaza Corias having to interfere. Rosendo Gaztea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perlaza Corias having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, CD Gualaqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Mantilla to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Gualaqui's goalkeeper Perlaza Corias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gaspar Gar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perlaza Corias having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Rosendo Gaztea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Perlaza Corias. That made the score 1-4 in the 90 minute of play. Luis Felo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perlaza Corias having to interfere. Perlaza Corias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosendo Gaztea in the 95th minute of the match. When the match was over Salinas FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CD Gualaqui throughout the match.
