Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rosero Ezquerra kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st match minute, Los Mutantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zumar Artealde to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Los Mutantes's Rosero Ezquerra got a free kick in the 24th minute. The supporters of Los Mutantes booed when UD Calacali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flor Zuriarrain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raphael Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salas Longo having to interfere. If Raphael Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinícius Britto was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Vinícius Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 41stth minute of the game Rosero Ezquerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UD Calacali's Ignacio Cuba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Los Mutantes got a corner. UD Calacali's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ambrossi Herbon ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rosero Ezquerra made the kick off in the second half. When Patricio Fariñada fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Calacali's protests and gave Patricio Fariñada a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to UD Calacali getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Patricio Fariñada hit a great ball. Los Mutantes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ambrossi Herbon in the 55th minute. A nice corner shot did that Ambrossi Herbon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ignacio Cuba quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vinícius Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Salas Longo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Mutantes's Salas Longo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinícius Britto in the 77th minute of play. Rosero Ezquerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ignacio Cuba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salas Longo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raphael Ramalho in the 84th minute of the match. Raphael Ramalho took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Salas Longo. Salas Longo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Roque Eguilaz charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roque Eguilaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, one of Los Mutantes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Los Mutantes. UD Calacali's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
