When 谢政震 came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Maria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 谢政震 couldn't finish the play. UD Sangay's Xan Macia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save UD Sangay from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zabal Lamboy in the 20th minute of play forced Maria's goalkeeper Dennis Besosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zabal Lamboy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Besosa having to interfere. Raúl Casillas charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raúl Casillas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maria! In the 26th minute there was a penalty for UD Sangay. Baldeón Sancha stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dennis Besosa. 2-1. Maria's 谢政震 was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 28th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when 谢政震 got free with Xan Macia in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in UD Sangay's zone, 谢政震 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xan Macia came out of the goal and 谢政震 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Maria booed when UD Sangay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urtsua Urtiaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. UD Sangay's Xan Macia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 谢政震 in the 44th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mendez Coronel to make the kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maria's goalkeeper Dennis Besosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Mendez Coronel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maria's Dennis Besosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Maria from getting a goal against them. Zabal Lamboy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Dennis Besosa made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mendez Coronel in the 67th minute of play forced Maria's goalkeeper Dennis Besosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Reasco Olaeta fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Sangay's protests and gave Reasco Olaeta a yellow card for diving instead. Xan Macia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 谢政震's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. If Estrada Oliva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Besosa made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Zabal Lamboy sent off a good shot on target. Mendez Coronel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute.
