With an all-out effort, Club Los Vagos's Urtun Castañeda threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pablo Madera, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Club Los Vagos booed when Banipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairón Garibay ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute, Club Los Vagos's Pablo Madera dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Jairón Garibay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Club Los Vagos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairón Garibay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Urtun Castañeda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairón Garibay, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute.
